A DNR -- "Do Not Resuscitate" order -- is a form of Advanced Medical Directive.

A DNR applies to one particular situation -- an AMD can cover many different types of health care decisions.

Not in VA. My mother had a DNR but no advanced directive. I did have Power of Atty and the medical team dealt with me and not my siblings.
