No. If you move the hell away from the radio, you may have a chance to get real hip-hop. In order to go forward, you may have to go back. Back when word of mouth mattered and those dirty *ss record stores were your source of music. And if there is a public radio station around and has a DJ playing underground, support 'em. Don't expect your r&b station to drop anything cerebral anytime soon.

I'm so sick of these "is hip-hop dead?" questions and "the south killed it" crap. The truth is that hip-hop is alive and well. It is spreading and appeals to a larger variety of people than it ever has before. Still, the culture faces the problems it did 15 years ago. Whether it be on the radio or in the underground, hip-hop is still going strong! Doesn't matter which side of it you like, it's hip-hop and you can't deny it. And if you underground kids don't believe me, take a look around you. And for you people who love the radio, take a closer listen.

well it sure aint gettin better with all this ay bay bay n party like a rockstar kinda sh*t its not dead b cuz there is still some rappers that capture the essence and satay tru and arent jus in it 4 the money but its not dead its just havin a major heart attack

its only alive underground where rappers like canibus, supernatural, jedi mind tricks keep it real and maybe some mainstream like lupe fiasco, nas, papoose, common but mostly underground
