I'm feeling your heat, my friend. This is what I do because I have the very same problem: I put fans in the other rooms, turned in the reverse direction, pulling the conditioned air into the hot rooms. Some fans even have a reverse switch. And.... I have a fan blowing the cold air out of my room and into the other rooms. Come to think of it, for all those fans, I should've just gotten another air conditioner. Be COOL....

I am having a similar problem. For the past 3 weeks our unit would not pass 74 degrees. We then noticed the coil outside and inside were frozen. We thawed them out and then the unit would not pass 78. Called service man, freon was added as well as sealant to prevent future leakage. Now only the backside of house has cool air blowing from vents. Front of house has warm air blowing. What could cause this difference? Please help!

Use a oscillating fan or a ceiling fan to help circulate the cool air!

Put a stand up fan in your doorway pointing into your daughters room. The fan will suck the cool air from your room & push it into hers.

A window A/C unit is meant to cool one room.
Apartments typically do not have duct-work.
Both of these explain why your idea won't work.
You'll need to get the kids their own unit.
