I do sometimes buy myself a present (why shouldn't I treat myself? It's my birthday.)
I've never baked my own cake. But I also don't bake cakes for anyone else, nor do I even care about eating cakes.
Sometimes I like to buy presents for my friends on my birthday. It's a nice surprise. No one ever expects to get gifts on someone else's birthday.

I did, I bought a cake for myself and had some lit matches in place of candles. Bought myself a gift too.
