If you had to pick the best three diggers along the wall of all time, who would you take?? Looking for your pick of those players who would willingly pay any price to come out of the corners with the puck. Its time to give the guys who do the dirty work a little respect. I have my list, lets hear yours....

OK, let me say, I dont mind if you want to be a total homer on this. Lets just give credit to those players that have and do work their asses off in the pits. The first answer was really good, I had O'Reilly myself because he was so damn mean, but lets hear some others. Hello.....

Yep Bob, Rick Tocchet is a good bet to be on this list. All punning aside, My top three would include:

1. John Madden, who to me is his generation's Bob Gainey (and I say that with a straight face).

2. Scott Mellanby, who not only was one of the tougher players in his era, but one of the most underrated leaders also.

3. Dale Hunter, who was a tough little bastard for starters. In addition, the man played hard and worked the corners like a prostitute in New York City.

Mike Keane - his tenacious checking helped three different teams win cups
Tim Hunter - now there's the face of a warrior

The Sutter's are a good choice. O'Reilly as well. I think Tocchet deserves consideration as well.
