Today, liberals consider any reference to "McCarthyism" as an automatic pass, for any pro-communist or pro-soclialist behavior. The McCarthism oppression, To Kill a MockingBird" and your teachers inspiring you with abortion rights, are the first rites of entering into liberalism & socialism.

What about Jane Fonda betraying P.O.W.'s who thought they could trust her when she sided with the Viet Cong.

Danny Glover having to be separated with a firehose and crowbar, from Chavez.

Timohy Sarandon and Sean Penn running to embrace any enemy of the USA.

Aside from McCarthy's extreme and aggressive style, was he really wrong? Were any of the people he pointed a finger, anywhere as hideous as Fonda, Penn or Timothy Sarandon?

To the liberals that dismiss Hollywood actors as insignificant- they get front page headlines for their actions, that's why they do it. They do what the rest of you liberals are afraid to do, come out of the closet and admit you want to over-throw our capitalist society. You use them to say what you don't have the courage to do.

Yes, the Verona Papers PROVED ALL McCarthy's allegations WERE IN FACT CORRECT!!!

McCarthy's Reign of Terror"
This is one of two or three big lies that the Left continues to spread about McCarthy. The average American did not fear McCarthy; in fact the Gallup Poll reported in 1954 that the Senator was fourth on its list of most ADMIRED men. The only people terrorized by McCarthy were those who had something subversive to hide and were afraid that they might be exposed.

Oh, there was a "reign of terror" in the early Fifties, but it was conducted AGAINST Joe not by him.

James Burnham, author of The Web of Subversion, a classic study of Communist penetration into the highest levels of the U.S. government, once reviewed the statistics of the so-called McCarthy terror:

Number of persons killed -- zero.
Number of persons wounded or injured -- zero.
Number of persons tortured -- zero.
Number of persons arrested w/o warrant -- zero.
Number of persons held or imprisoned w/o trial -- zero.
Number of persons evicted, exiled, or deported -- zero.
Number of persons deprived of due process -- zero.

Libs love to talk about the innocent people he destroyed. So please--name ONE. You may be able to come up with someone who came before some OTHER committee, or Hollywood, or something which was NEVER a focus of a McCarthy investigation." At the most, he publicly exposed about 160 persons, all of whom had significant records of collaboration with or support for Communists and/or Communist causes.

You said, "Were any of the people he pointed a finger, anywhere as hideous as Fonda, Penn or Timothy Sarandon?"

Reply: those are actors and actresses who have no power to create, modify, or terminate government policy or actions. Other than voting in or out of office their senators, representatives, or president.

See above for accountability.

Very valid question. One needs to review the impact of the Iraq war, on this society we live in. It has become more than evident from the media the print media that we have a open channel of Socialist views and Communist views spewing forth, The leaders of political correctness are the Socialist and wanna be communist. Your far left agenda fits these philosophy's to a tee. So I would refer this question of yours to the head Socialist-Barack Hussein Obama. Im sure he could be far more conversent, about his motives and there motives than I.

Robert Kennedy was as guilty of communist purges as McCarthy, but gets a free pass.

Communist beliefs are not illegal, though they are banned in the Armed Forces. There should not have been any investigations into the legal political beliefs of private citizens.

But Kennedy and McCarthy were both right that there were communists in the government and hollywood.

McCarthy ruined many innocent lives and should have served time in prison.
He was one of the most evil men I have read about.
Now with Jan Fonda,Penn,Sarandon, they are very rich. They were guilty but because people still support them they have mad allot of money off of our backs.

You don't get it. You're using the Republican worldview and philosophy as a baseline against which all other societies, philosophies and cultures are measured. You've drawn a conclusion about American conservatism and essentially discredited all other views relative to that conclusion.

You have nothing to say because you've observed nothing and understood nothing.

One of the most famous "victims" of McCarthy's "witch hunts" was a fellow named Alger Hiss.

After the Soviet Union disintegrated, we got access to a lot of KGB files. One of them had Alger Hiss' name on it.

It turns out he really was a Soviet agent.

Yes, it's been validated.

"Project Venona" - McCarthy was a true hero. He took the high hard one instead of divulging national security secrets to save his own reputation.
