I lay down on the sand and just let the waves wash away all my worries and all my pain.

You just described a scene from the movie "The Sure Thing" with John Cusack and Daphne Zunica.
It is the dream scenario where he finds himself lying there all alone in a leather jacket and swim trunks in a white room facing the ocean wondering what will happen next. Will it be the girl or his dreams coming up to him or what?
The answer according to the movie and I am pretty sure this is the right thing to do is sit, look, and listen, and discover the truth of what is going on all around you.
You may not be alone.
Of course if you are actually out on the beach you had better imagine some sun block and a cool sunny day, or else you are going to burn.
Used to be a lifeguard, been there, done that. You might also want to bring some water and something to read.
I would not suggest going into the water on your own if you don't have to, the undertow may get you and there will be noone there to notice you are gone.
In the future, imagine you are on "Baywatch" with the sexy lifeguards to save you.
PS. I obviously read both your questions at once which is why the Cusak scene came to mind.

At Gulf of Mexico in Port Aransas, I go out into the Atlantic as far as I can, hopefully to a sandbar, and watch the pelicans dive for food.
At the Nome beach in Alaska, I wade at the edge of the icy cold Bering Sea and look for sea glass (for crafts) and starfish.
Pacific Ocean... I walk along beach tossing dog food into the air, attracting a large flock of seagulls who hover above me, amusing me, as I walk along the beach.

Just relax, meditate and think about things.. Appreciate the beauty of the ocean and listen to the waves crash. I would probably go for a nice swim, maybe nude and then fall asleep on the sand :)

No one is around? That means the waves are free of people? Surf's up! I would overcome my fear of sharks to have the waves to myself! Cowabunga! Sitting on the beach with a pina colata and a nice umbrella would be nice, but, the solitude on the water can not be matched. Only had that one time in my life, I loved it!

What time of year is it? Is it sunny or cloudy or raining? Is the ocean clear of seaweed and other slimy things? Are there any sharks around? Where are the rips? Why aren't there any lifeguards here? Wish I had my wife with me! Forgot my swimmers, think I'll just roll up my trousers and wade in knee deep.

silently Listen to the roaring waves of the ocean how turmoils are stored in it still it goes on waving at us...
Watch how waves are trying to separate from ocean for moment and then again dissolves into the ocean...

Newspaper taxis appear on the shore, waiting to take you away. Climb in the back with your head in the clouds and you're gone.
