One must first believe in something in order to have knowledge of it. In other words, there needs to be a fact about something in order for you to believe in that fact. To have belief without knowledge is having no way to express to yourself and to other that what you know about the belief in the first place. Life's experience is wisdom that is aged, with knowledge that must be freely given to those who ask for it, when called upon to do so.

Come on.........this is a no brainer. Belief is belief. Knowledge is based on fact. Nearly all (I would say all, but I don't like absolutes) religion is merely belief, not knowledge. You can have any kind of belief you choose. Knowledge based in fact is another whole story. Just my humble opinion.

Belief is not rested in knowledge. Belief is rested in trust. Many believe without facts, and unfortunately, with misplaced trust. This is where old wive's tales, rumors, lies, and some religions are founded.

Smart belief is rested in knowledge. Belief with no knowledge is called faith, which is absurd.

there are 3 ways to believe in sth /sm:
1. to see/to witness
2. to read (knowledge)/ to listen
3. to experience and hold on to that.

i never have seen spirits or God, i read a few words written by ppl and hear people talking about it, but i can tell you i've been on the edge of live and dead and that i couldn't move my arms while i was driving one night. sth. said to me turn left and i did. if i didn't i was hit frontally by a stupid drunk at my drivers side. it's not just a story i am making up, i've never believed in anything except myself but now i know that there is an angel watching over me and my belief is not rested in knowledge but faith like TAT have mentioned above

Of course there is belief withtout knowledge. Yahoo Answers is the perfect example. How many people do you see posting stuff here they swear is true but is anything but true??? They can believe it all they want, but it does not make it so. Pax - C

No. Many people do not want to hear knowledge, or facts. They want to "believe" something is real, even when the facts and truth tell them other wise. Example. the tv show where guys look for ghosts. I have NEVER seen any proof of ghosts on this show. Just "did you hear that?"

if there is absence of knowing something, belief cannot be formed.Faith offering creations frankly, from thin air, where belief and its parent knowledge is transcended and transformed into focused intentions amplified by Faith.

Maybe there is no knowledge potent enough to relieve fear, so faith is the basis for belief.
