Hi, i am looking for some one who knows A LOT about home recording studios. i am a solo singer and i reccently recorded my first single at a friends house, she owns the equipment, but now i would like some of my own, but i need some help with what i should buy. What i am looking for is someone on here who is experienced in this sort of thing, whom i can corespond with and get the info i need. so please, fi you can help, answer this question so i can email you, or just email me at voiceangel17@yahoo.com. Another, maybe simpler way is if you happen to have an AIM screen name we can talk on there, that way it's faster and simpler.

Well thanks a lot, and please, if you can help please do. I am an aspiring artist, but i do need a little bit of help. Thanks again, hope to hear from you soon. :)

I'm a Solo Artist who is producing my own CDs.
I have 2 Solo CDs and 1 DVD so far. I did my 2nd demo in 2004 at my friends home studio. But honestly...I've made most of my Solo CDs at real recording studios, where I paid an Recording Engineer to do it for me at $25 an hour. Some used SONAR or Protools, some others used CAKEWALK too. But out of all the recording softwares... my fav is CUBASE software. The software alone costs $600 so think about your budget first before buying anything first.

Now...if you are going to do it yourself. Like using a straight CD Recorder using different vocal and Condenser mikes in your home. SHURE vocal microphones are some of the best for clarity. Also, try some DDrum drum triggers
(drum microphones) for miking drums too. They save alot of time setting up. Also, check out some TASCAM CD Recorders. I've heard they have great recording sound quality. You could get the 8, 16 or 24 track ones too. The TASCAM 8 Track CD Recorder is like $600 at Guitar Center. Seriouly, check out the TASCAM CD Recorders. They have been around for like over 35 years and musicians know they are really good recorders. I'm buying one someday when I get the extra $600 for myself

Also, use "CLICK TRACK" too. It comes with most Recording software too when you buy it. "CLICK TRACK" helps you stay in time when recording your songs. Also, use a little $20 QUIKTIME Metronome too help you learn excellent timing in your songs.

So, I hope this helped you little bit. I'm a Solo musician, not a pro Recording Engineer. I'm just telling you what was used in my own CDs in the past from other Recording Engineers.
This way; you can save a lot of headaches and money when you are recording your own CDs at your home. Good luck and have
fun. Best wishes to you

get a loan from the bank on JUST what you need to get started and nothing lower. You will need family voulenteers first to start working there so u wont be ind debt to pay workers. have short hours for ur memebers and do alot of your own advertising for your grill. After you are slowly making good money (approx 1 month, start hiring other people) GOOD LUCK! :)

Pro tools is a great start (Mbox2) and a good mic. Very good sound quality and professional. You can't go wrong with it. Its kinda of hard to use at first but once you get the book you will be fine.
