Hassan thank you for your answer. I guess, in essence, continuing the extension of democracy and tolerance, is what you are saying? I don't think that many people in the middle east are able to address issues that are addressed from outside the region, as in, change the way the US does its relations in the middle east. Although you points have merit, there isn't much that can be done, that I know of. So I am just asking what people in the area can do to change their environment. Thanks.

I am born and raised in the middle east
yet i come from a long liberal family line
of human and women right activists.
The majority of my nation is moderate
We are plagued by religious fanatisme
which have erupted in the region in the past 20 years
thanks to the cold war era ,in which America has funded
these movements to stand against the middle eastern regimes that were leaning toward the eastern block at the time,America was the first target that this evil force attacked the next year the cold war ended !!
Do not worry about our people joining the terrorists because that's currently our main battle in our socities which could be mainly achieved through further developement & restructuring of our liberal & democratic value, thus promoting tolerence and acceptance in addition to the upgrade of the economic infrastructure in order to contain our youth in fruitful outlets of production & creativity
but
meanwhile,a huge portion of the responsability lies in the neck of the american politics and strategies which has created a congested political & economic reality in the middle east.,first by funding the terrorisme during the 80's then by sponsoring bius agendas against the political rights of the palestenians which inhabit a holy land to all the 3 major religions practiced in the region
i believe that working on both fronts would make us prevail

Very carefully. Those of the Islamic faith will disown their own children if they turn from Islam. Most terrorists lay claim the reason for all of the killings is a holy war. And that's far anyone who does not agree with Islam. They kill each-other.
These young terrorists especially the suicide bombers are being used and they don't realize it. Only for their Clerics and leaders to live on.
Wake-up young Muslim men!!!

People in Middle East simply want to take control of their own countries, politically and economically. They do not like Western Powers establishing military bases in their backyard. What motivates terrorists is the very presence of American-British troops, the enormous control that Western Powers exercise over their economy, American bombings that have killed or mutilated thousands of innocent Muslims and US support for Israeli brutalities. Religious extremism is a factor but not all extremists are terrorists and not all terrorists are religious!
Arabs and Muslims need to realize that they cannot get rid of Western Powers by using terrorism. The only way is to organize political movements that can bring about necessary changes. Once enough political pressure builds up, Arabs rulers (supported by the US) will have no choice but to ask the US to leave, as has happened in Saudi Arabia already. Unity is also very important because Western Powers have always used a policy of divide-and-rule, but in some cases that has backfired for the US, as we’ve seen in Iraq.
Having said all this, it's foolish to ask what Arabs can do without educating Americans and Britons at the same time that imperialism is no longer sustainable in today's world, and they are fighting a losing battle. The notion that Americans and Britons are somehow superior and therefore can do whatever they want to subjugate others in the name of "freedom" is hardly acceptable to anybody in the Middle East. Thus the battle of winning hearts and minds is being lost. Americans are paying with their lives, hundreds of billions of dollars are being spent, but the so-called “War on Terror” is going nowhere.
The world is truly ready for a fairness doctrine by which all countries are more or less equal before a mutually agreed upon international law that can ensure human rights, rights of self-determination and global security. But people in America—especially those living in the South—are not ready. Having given up on trying to control Blacks, they now want to control the rest of the world. They believe, like Rush Limbaugh, that "the world is run by an aggressive use of force." It's this supremacist doctrine which is at the very core of American foreign policy and which keeps getting us in trouble. It's not that Americans are to be blamed for terrorism, but they should certainly be blamed for standing in the way of a better, progressive, more egalitarian world order than can bring lasting peace to our world.

What nonesense! i do no longer bear in mind Jesus brainwashing human beings to strap explosive to their physique and blow themselves in crowds at mall, shops, eating places, markets, and so on., nor do I see him installation rockets to attempt and hit as many civilians as achieveable. in comparison to Judaism and Christianity, and an outstanding style of alternative religions or maybe cults interior the worldwide, Islam continues to be the comparable barbaric, violent faith it incredibly is been because of the fact the day of Mohammed. it continues to be the comparable subversive, oppressive faith it has constantly been, no longer basically on its human beings, yet rather on different cultures. it incredibly is time for Muslims to take accountability and take action against its great extremist phase, and rid itself of this severe ingredient. as quickly as and for all.

I'd tell them that Atheism is the ONLY way to go. (Yeah- I know it wouldn't work in THIS Country either...-But if everyone in the World became Atheists, then ALL the World's religious differences- would disappear, & so would most terrorists.) :)
