Diversity of "opinion" is one thing, but as I'm often in this section, I've noticed that the majority of answers have nothing to do with logic. Honestly, this is not the place to make disparate, absolute statements. Anywhere but here!

The reason there is so much contradiction to most questions is because everyone has a different opinion and interprets things differently. If you get a different answer to 1 + 1 then the person doesn't know his or her Math.

Because since everything in existence is constantly changing there are many views on singular things that make up a totality of the question but usually only one has the clarity to encompass both the cause and the effect of what the question is asking to give a right answer. Often times from one view point a person writes a question that has within it, its answer that seems like it is a direct contradiction to what is being asked but is asked anyways as a means to clarify what the person knows but fails to understand it from how he perceives life through the singular essence of him within a life of constantly changing observations.

Some people want to show off, some people show their subconscious control-freak and type in an answer because someone else didn't state it quite right. Some people really have a different opinion. I think.
Just for that I'm going to ask that question right now. Watch for it.
Okay, I've asked the question(this was added on edit). I just checked it and have precisely 10 different answers.
...
is it coincidence? sigh...

Salis S is on the right track. If the question is of a factual nature, it will have but one answer. If it is a matter of opinion e.g.'what's the best song?" There will be as many answers as people questioned.

Some people seem to think that the "points" you get for answering a question are good for something. They don't seem to understand what the word "answer" means.

The truth speaks...confirming itself...any answer would be right, even absurd one if the asker honestly willing to manifest it in reality. With absence of doubts anything is possible., instead we choose to fight for our rights to prove others...then any given answer would be wrong, unless manifested as a fact. Hard and dramatic way...insufficient I would presume.

Not all questions. Ask anything about sex or nudity, and you get a flood of very angry answers. I thought we were more open-minded. But I am definitely wrong!!

yes, that's because each answer is an argument or puzzle each person is working on.
philosophy and logic --- everything in it demands that you think of an argument and prove it, if possible --- and anything is possible.
you are only limited by your imagination and logical abilities.
