i was thinking about buying a labtop. which woudl be the best time to buy one now or around christmas time. or is there any other time that labtops are the cheapest. i would also like to know which kind of labtop is the best. dell gateway hp etc...

Toshiba is the best if you want performance but if you want better sound/better visual then go with HP. There are so macs but they are usually more expensive. Some states of "no tax" weekends in august which could save you about 80 dollars. I don't know when is the best time to buy them. A better thing to try would be to find the laptop that you want and then shop around for the best price. And then wait about 4 months and surly the price will go down.

After trying to figure this same question out myself. I just looked around and got a general idea of what the "typical" price was for the level of system I was looking for. Then bought the first one that went low enough for me.

Although the best time to buy one will always be 6 months in the future... since the one you bought will really only be available for a few months max before being replaced by a new model...the fun that comes with buying technology...
