sure seems like something you'd ask your doctor...not Yahoo answers.

It is normal to bleed for about 6 weeks after giving birth. Anything beyond that and you should contact your doctor. Sometimes this is a sign that a piece of the baby's placenta wasn't expelled after birth and is still inside. If that's the case, the doctor can take care of it. But definately make an appointment to get checked out. Congrats on your new baby!

I'm gonna go with thw major consensus here and say, see a doctor. My son was born June 28 of this year and he's 5 weeks old and last week was my first week of completely no bleeding. I haven't bled since last week and returned to my normal clear discharge. I was told by my ob/gyn that if I were to bleed longer than 6 weeks that there could be a problem and I was to call and let them know. So that's what I'm suggesting you do.

I agree with the others...it can be normal to bleed for around 6 weeks unitl the uterus is back in place (about the size of your fist and down low in your pelvis). During that time, as you increase activity, your bleeding can increase, but 13 weeks later?! Did you see your doc for the 6 wk check up (got a pelvic exam to check the above mentioned uterus size). If not, go ASAP. If you did, know that something is causing the bleeding (attached placenta, laceration that hasn't healed, etc.). Hope this problem resolves for you!

It may not be anything. But you should be contacting your doctor very soon. Did you go back for a 6 week check-up after the baby? If something was wrong they would have caught it there. Just make that appointment soon.

if you got the depo shot right after the baby then that could be the reason why. the same thing happened to me and the doctor said that the depo shot sometimes makes you bleed longer. i bled for 10 weeks. it sucked. but just in case talk to your doctor.

I always hate when people say - ask a dr. But in your case I really think you should. If you've been constantly bleeding, you could be in danger of anemia.

Well if you got stitches then you might have torn one open. If not I'd say you are healing slower than normal. But just to be safe see your doctor.

You should contact your OB provider. That could be a sign of something more serious.
