A high flow muffler or exhaust will increase horse power in the upper RPM's but will decrease bottom end torque. Most hard core rock crawlers will tell you the same thing

Below is a link where they tested a VW engine with various mufflers, and although this is not the same type of engine or muffler as your car, you can see that they picked up a couple of horse power by changing muffler/header.

Yes, its possible. Some cars run better without backpressure and some run better with it.
The magnaflow muffler may be reducing the back-pressure your engine needs.

Just about anything is possible. However, I doubt it. Magnaflow has tested the mufflers before they sell them, if it didn't improve the performance, then they wouldn't sell it, they don't want any damage to their good name.

it seem slower because there is more air flow but, you have more horse power.
