Hi all. I was manually bleeding the coolant system and accidentally spilled a good amount of the coolant onto the engine and exhaust manifold. I couldn't clean out all of the spill. As I warmed up the engine, there was a substantial amount of white smoke coming from the engine bay so I quickly shut off in case it might spark a fire.

Is the coolant a fire hazard in this situation? Should I hose down the engine bay with water or just run the engine and burn off the coolant mixture?

You help is greatly appreciated!!

Your fine. There is no fire danger. You should try and get as much as you can off and then spray the engine down with water to diute the mixture. It is hard on paint. Once you hose it off and let it dry, either sitting in the driveway or running down the road, you be OK.

Good luck.

it incredibly is achieveable that the engine you got/ replaced would have a small crack interior the manifold it incredibly is allowing this to take place . examine all the hoses returned and it incredibly is needed to show here that if the coolant is leaking interior the manifold to envision it uchronic u r automobile and if it provides thick fog from the tail pipe then it defenetly ability the coolant is leaking in to the exhaust manifold and the block head desires to be checked.

It's really not anything to worry about, the white "smoke " was just water vapour evaporating.
It isn't flammable any more than water is. Run it and dry ot out.

i would let the engine cool and then try to soak up with rags what you can clean... it will evaporate and burn off the rest.. no fire danger..

NO PROBLEM.

I WOULD LET IT COOL DOWN COMPLETELY AND POUR WATER OVER IT TO REMOVE IT ANYWAY.
