My mom and I play yahtzee all the time. Today, I was 161 points away from 2000 for the end game. In one game, I got 618 points, rolling 4 yahtzee's.
This got us wondering....
What is the highest known yahtzee score?
Does anyone know?

The highest score possible with no Yahtzee's is 325, then 375 with one, and 100 more for every subsequent Yahtzee.
Since you only get 13 rolls in a game (see the rules, not all players realize that additional Yahtzee's don't give you extra rolls) the high score ever possible is 1575 = 13 Yahtzee's including all full scores in all other boxes.

Highest Yahtzee Score

You've got me beat. I've scored in the 625 to 645 range three to four times with my electronic Yahtzee game, which I keep on a table and play probably 10 idle games a day (this includes "game aborts" where I give up quickly on games that are going no where from the very start). I've been doing this since 2000, so I've played (or started) somewhere between 32,000 and 34,000 games. By the way, I disagree with the person about what is theoretically the highest score possible. I think it's actually 1540: Yahtzee: 50 5 1's (score in 1's): 5 + bonus = 105 5 2's (score in 2's): 10 + bonus = 110 5 3's (score in 3's): 15 + bonus = 115 5 4's (score in 4's): 20 + bonus = 120 5 5's (score in 5's): 25 + bonus = 125 5 6's (socre in 6's): 30 + bonus = 130 5 6's (score in 3 of a kind): 30 + bonus = 130 5 6's (score in 4 of a kind): 30 + bonus = 130 5 of anything (score as a Full House): 25 + bonus = 125 5 of anything (score as a Sm. St.): 30 + bonus = 130 5 of anything (score as a Lg. St.): 40 + bonus = 140 5 6's (score in Chance): 30 + bonus = 130 All this adds up to 1,540. I wonder if the electronic hand-held Yahtzee game is built to accomodate this contingency.

Yahtzee Score

Highest I ever got was 716 and that was with 5 Yahtzee's, including 2 on one roll. The odds of getting a Yahtzee on a single roll are over 1 in 1000, so along with the three the other Yahtzee's, the odds would be about s high as winning a small lottery. It's very difficult to get 400, let alone anything after it.

I have a hand held Yahtzee game that I play a few games on practically every day, even take on vacation with me. I've done this for about 15 years and scored a 821 last night with 6 yahtzees. It was a big day!

This is in response to Jonathon B
If you got 13 Yahtzees you couldn't get every other box full. When you get a yahtzee you cross off the other boxes... 13 yahtzees would give you a score of 1250 (50 for the first, 100 for each of the subsequent ones) I think this is the highest score you could get (although I haven't tried all possibilities!)

My daughter, Kindsey, and I played Yahtzee for the first time in months. WE HAD A MARVELOUS TIME!! She too, rolled four Yahtzee's in one game for a final score of 575! She, however, DID NOT WIN, as I too rolled four Yahtzee's in the same game (YAY!) scoring 635!! Oh, yes!! Good family fun!! :)
