Hi there! :-)
I'm going to try and work through this in order!
Love is very difficult to describe because as said many many times 'love is different for everyone'. Each bond, relationship and friendship is unique and only understood by those who are experiencing such.
First of all there are different types of love: that of a mother and child, husband and wife, brother and sister, two friends, boyfriend and girlfriend and other ..
What I call INSTINCTIVE LOVE is natural, you are born with - this applies to every option except deeper relationships between boyfriend and girlfriend, husband and wife. Taking brothers and sisters for example - they can fight every single day and feel anger towards each other, but there will ALWAYS be love. Whereas, if this happened with a couple then its likely they would break up.
For me the 'Love +' when there's what we like to call 'chemistry' or 'a spark' between 2 people - whether that's a man and a woman, a man and a man etc .. Its the most unique type of love.
In my experience of this, the best words I can give you are a feeling of 'rightness' and 'perfection'.
However, before you can love you have to accept. Accepting is probably the hardest part. Because once you are truly open and conscious to most of the other person(s) faults, you have to say 'OK, I accept this is what you do' or 'OK, I accept that you chose not to do this'.
Unless you have accepted, your relationship cannot grow any further or to is full potential.
That's my view of LOVE! :-) Any type of love is a beautiful feeling, something that everybody should be able to experience. LOVE does make the world go around, I believe. Because we tend to depend on others love to keep us going, as motivation and a reason to live. Even the worst criminals tend to have a partner.
Thank You! Great question,
I wish you had more answers :-(

No one else wants to step up to this question, so I'll try to help you out.
One thing that may lead to confusion is that "love" is an umbrella term in our language, and so people try to make their thoughts and behaviors conform to what a person thinks this means. The easiest way around this obstacle is to introduce some new terminology, using another language. I'll use Greek since we live in a western culture and can easily identify with it.
The Greeks don't have "love" but three different words:
Eros-romantic, biological or sensual love
Philos-companionship, comradarie, or brotherly love
Agape-spiritual, complete, or virtuous love
These are all emotions, we give them names in order to express to others our own state of mind.
The problem is that these things are experienced by you only, and thus you cannot directly relate this to others, just as I cannot know if my "green" looks like your "green" without transcending language.

People have been asking this question since the beginning of time and you will not get a proper answer. Love means different things to different people. Love can change from occasion to occasion, at its most basic it can be mere lust.
At its height it can bring great joy and satisfaction. Sadly great sorrow when for some reason it ends. Treat it with caution.

what is love?
well if u take the look of a man who died many years ago he said at the beginning we were all separated from our other half and so we spend our time looking for them or maybe just pushing square pegs in round holes so we don't end up alone love as said by all changes from person to person so this should tell us that it has no true form and is only a concept so there is no 1 answer to a concept

Love is a strong emotion ... a feeling .... it makes you want to posess something ... more than anything else in the world!
Of course people have given it too many useless meanings.

Love is choosing to do what is best for another person, at whatever cost to yourself.
