Snakes don't have eyelids. They have a 'horny' plate over their eyes, like a fingernail. This is so they can crawl in the weeds without getting poked in the eyes with sticks. I think its very clever of them!

That on top of all the mice corpse bulges in their stomachs would just stretch everything out too far. And snakes don't have moisturizers like us, so that means trouble.

It is possible for snakes to close it eyes. They do it so fast that you can't see it with the naked eye.
