depends on the employer that's paying and whether the meterologist is attractive (draws an audience) or popular. The more popular he or she is then the higher the salary. Sorry I can't give you an exact number, but that's the way it goes.

Can't say specifically for the Weather Channel but here's some general info...

The higher the level of qualification the higher the earnings. Entry level salary for a meteorologist with a masters degree is arounf $42,000 PA and around $56,000 with a doctorate.

The lowest paid are those working for small organisations in backwaters where the salary could be as low as $20,000 whereas those working for national organisations in major cities such as New York the salary is around $300,000.

The typical salary of a 'broadcast personality' 10 years ago was upwards of $120,000, since then the average salary of a meteorologist has increased by about 75% so today it's probably upwards of $210,000.

Four years ago the overall average salary of all meteorologists was just under $75,000, today it's probably between $90 and $100,000.

The only reason the weather channel knows whats going on is that they can afford to send their people where the weather is causing the most havoc and get an on the spot report of it. Otherwise their forecasts would be like the local stations, look into a crystal ball or wet their thumb and stick it out the window.....

MORE THAN THEY DESERVE, they can't even get my area's forecast in the same zipcode as RIGHT. And what do they care? Ever watch weather channel when there is severe weather? all they do is say "there's some severe weather happening in kansas. more on that and your forecast after the conclussion of Storm Stories" WHAT A CROCK OF CRAP!!!! PEOPLE MIGHT BE DYING AND THEY'RE WORRIED ABOUT STORM STORIES AND RATINGS!!!!!
