I've always been a huge fan of Led Zeppelin, and really only bought the album back in the day because I'm a completest I guess.
I felt then, as I do now that the album should be re-titled 'In Through the Outhouse Door'... that's how bad it stinks! Anyone agree?

It seems like the only people who give this album a higher rating than it deserves, weren't born until 15 or 20 years after it was released! Easily impressed or what?! I suppose that when you compare it to some of todays regurgitated crap, it might be considered a masterpiece by a young impressionable fan. But that's almost like comparing one piece of **** with another piece of ****! They both stink...don't they?

Carlmoles65 - I am a TRUE Zeppelin fan. If you were old enough to go out and buy their last TRUE studio album without your Mom (which was 'Presence') you'd remember how the TRUE Led Zep fans reacted to 'In Through the Out Door' upon it's release nearly 4 years after the aforementioned album. I own everything that band ever did, including all of their UK ORIGINAL vinyl pressings, dozens of bootlegs, along with everything Jimmy Page was involved with, be it session work he did in the 60's before and after joining the Yardbirds, Lord Sutch etc. I'd be a betting man and say I'm a bigger fan than you my friend!

Boosgrammy - Led Zeppelin were an 'albums' band, not a 'singles band'. They weren't writing music to obtain a #1 hit single. There was once a time when many bands did this, as many fans(including myself) wanted this.
Once I matured musically, I bought music for the album, not the single that may or may not have layed within.
Maybe you should check out how many top selling albums they had.
Also, why would you suggest that the determining factor as to whether a band is 'good' or not, is achieving a #1 hit in the US?
I've never heard anything so silly!
You're showing your lack of knowledge, and taste on this one buddy!
Many of Led Zeppelins albums went platinum several times.
The fact that they did have many well known songs that hit the airwaves then and now, was coincidence. They didn't strive to do this. The record company/producers made that happen.
