I remember reading this in a book about relativity years ago. It could have been the Philippines. Supposedly the man appeared in another part of the country or world. Was anything written about it in the papers back then?

Theoretically, this could be possible and is covered in physics classes. It has to do with having all the atoms in the body adjust their different vibration rates to come into harmony with the frequency needed to "tunnel" through the intermediate matter which has simultaneously had the proper harmonizing of all its atoms. The probability is then explained (It is well below the probability of the person next to you having three working eyes, four working heads, and speaking through holograms) and half the class wishes that they would be the one to demonstrate the experience. That lasts for about two breaths and then everyone continues on with the class. The example given by one teacher just might have been that of the fictitious firing squad victim. Unfortunately, this is the stuff from which Urban Legends are generated.

That's interesting and something I've not previously heard about. Got to go Google it, now.
