What's a Road Dome?

I was wonder what that was, can someone tell me what that means please!!!!! I know this is a stupid question

Not a stupid question.
Road pavement is not flat.
There is a "crown" or dome to the road to assist in the run-off of water when it rains. The pavement is higher in the middle of the road than it is along the edges.
It is usually most evident in one- or two-lane roads.
