after losing to USA, is mexico's dream to play in the confederation cup in 2009 over? i heard they might have a chance to get in the confed cup.
those yanks(USA) better do awesome and better win at least 1 game. and i better not here Donovan complain to Bradley about playing foreign tournaments and playing away from home (bradley would probably love to slap the *hit out him). USA better represent CONCACAF and do well since they won. Please don't embarrass us CONCACAF.

They had NO CHANCE. THEY had 2 changes inn Copa America and in Gold Cup. And dont say USA WILL not Embarass the Concacaf. THey will do goood. If they earn to go there they will do good so dont seee plz dont embarras us. if you are a real U.S A Fan you wont say that

The teams that make the Confederations Cup are the 6 regional champions, the World Cup champions, and the country hosting the tournament. Argentina made it because Brazil had won both the World Cup and Copa America. Since Brazil qualified by winning the WC, the runner-up would have then qualified, but since the runner-up was also the host nation (Germany), they filled the last spot with the Copa America runner-up, Argentina. It has nothing to do with the Olympics.
But as far as Mexico goes, I wouldn't count them out completely just yet. I read an article a few months ago about how FIFA is considering changing the Confederations Cup to a 12 or 16-team format. If they do change the rules, there is a slight possibility that Mexico will be able to play in the tournament.

it doesn't matter because the confederations cup is just a warm-up competition held 1 year before the world cup. whether you play in it or not does not significantly impact your chances at the WC the following year. I think brazil won it in 05 and it didn't mean a thing. A boost of confidence maybe, but I wouldn't make a big deal out of it if I lose because in one year's time my squad might be even better than the one at Confed. Cup. Lol don't worry USA will win at least one game... not like in the 06 WC, which was embarrasing for every fan. I would be more worried about Bob Bradley than Landon since Landon doesn't always influence the game (sometimes I forget that he's even playing) and Bradley's team selection is more important than Donovan's play. He needs to replace some of his older players with more talented younger players (and I don't mean his son Michael >.>) and have his team play better defensively (they give up way too many scoring chances).

I agree and I think they will do an excellent job but Mexico might still have a chance with that Concachampions but I doubt it will happen. Its good that the US is playing in the Confederations cup but that will make no difference when the World Cup comes around. Brazil won the last one and it made no difference as they still lost in the World Cup.

yeah but i think mexico still has a chance to go to it if they win the gold medal in the olympics or something like that argentina is out of it too it kiend of sucks usa wont even win a game im sure mexico would be the best team to represent concacaf well i dont now witch teams are going becides brazil and usa i hope spain goes to it too.

I kissed the Conf. cup away the as soon as the Ref blew his whistle for the last time on that fateful Sunday. And no, the Gold Cup was our only chance of getting in the conf. cup and we screwed it up. Good luck USA, don't embarrass us.

ya are forgetting the football olympic games.remember 4 years ago argentina lost copa america to bazil but the year after they won the tornament at the football olympic games. and went to the conederations cup. mexico has to do the same in 08 to go to the conederations cup.

I don't think so. Mexico is a talented team and will be asked to
compete. There are no better teams than Mexico and US from
N. America.
US soccer is not great, but they can manage and they always
compete very well when they against Mexico.
