Many times a waitress will purposely leave certain things off the bill because of maybe a small mistake that was made during your meal. It's a way of saying thanks for being patient, I'll forget you had that soda. It's little freebies and if you accept the bill without saying anything, fearing the server will have to pay for the missed item - wrong, the only way a server could miss it was if it was an item that didn't need to be rung up to be prepared, so it goes unnoticed. I hate charging my good customers for every little item when they are already getting overpriced on their food!

Undercharged, yes, many times. Usually it's the server forgetting that we had another beer or drink. They always get a scared look and whisper "Forget about it." or "Don't worry about it." So we just tip on what the bill should have been.

I heard a story once about a family that came in and ordered, prayed before their meal, and then ate. When the ticket came, dad noticed that they were undercharged. He mentioned it to the waitress, and she said she wanted to find out if they really lived out their faith. That really sunk in with me, I want people everywhere not to simply think that I am some Christian, but that I live the relationship I have with Jesus. That's most important to me, and that can open people's heart to the love of a Savior

Yes. I checked the bill very carefully and found that they were giving me a 25% off promotional offer. I paid the bill, and left a tip based on the full price of the check without the discount.

Er, yes.
The Dubai Sheraton, after a splendid meal for me and my mates, asked for my room number.
624 I spake, and signed the chitty in a non-descript way.
We were not guests.
No such hing as a free meal ? I beg to differ.
The chitty went into accounts and duly lost in the system.
I have little sympathy, although I did return the following month, and tipped the staff in fine manner.
Soul free of debt.
Hey Ho,

Here's the thing.... you weren't exactly being undercharged, you were being "hooked up"
A server does stuff like this to try and get a couple of extra bucks. You know, you scratch my back, i'll scratch yours

It's their own fault. Usually it's only a dollar or two- if it's more than that then I say something. I figure it makes up for times when I got ripped off at the drive through with my order or overcharged.

All the time, because I usually go to the same restaurants and keep going back. Just leave a bigger tip.

If you don't want to say anything and still feel guilty you could always make it up in a tip.
