Last year, as a symbol of my own hopes for our world and humanity, I bought a rosebush named, "Hope for Humanity", to symbolize this affirmation (or perhaps desire). Over the winter, it died, and now all that remains is its soil which serves as fertilizer for other potential life.

I question the state of our world and the state of humanity. And so I am asking all of you, "Is there Hope for Humanity"? Please offer your thoughts and ~Why~ you have come to your conclusions.

Is there hope for humanity. yes, but only if humanity realizes that hope is dependant upon faith. Not necessarily religion but faith in our selves and each other so that hope can span world wide from knowing that we can all exist in perpetual happiness amongst each other as we care about each other and we can be in peace through understanding. But in order for hope to generate peace that understanding must be cultivated by everyone in order for our hope can be seen as an affirmation for the care we have for our own species. If we do not care then their is little hope. So, I think there is hope for humanity from the standpoint of humanity vs. humanity but little hope from humanity vs. nature because nature always wins despite our hope of surviving amongst it.
Why I have come to this conclusion? Because throughout the history of man we have hurt each other. The only species on Earth that has the greatest intelligence but the greatest amount of death generated by its own kind. This had me think that their would never be hope because we are ignorant to kill each other off despite being intellectual enough to prevent it. But family and our love for each other has always been the guiding force for hope and faith as well as understanding that has me think hope for humanity is possible as long as we rely on intelligence and not our carnal nature.

No, I haven't lost hope in humanity for many reasons. There is bad stuff in the world, but that's really all we focus on. 99% of the world is pretty damn good if you ask me......we just focus on the 1% that's bad. Also, the world has remained consistent over the years in personality and attitudes and we still made it through. Let's take a look at some of your issues with humanity: -"people talk **** about each other"- Well, that's always happened since the beginning of time. It's just human nature and really, it's not all that bad. -"guys are going around using girls like tissues and vise-versa" - No, not really. Yeah, it happens but generally, it doesn't. -"school is just degrading filled with people that are just unbearable" - That's not a problem of humanity, that's a problem of YOURS. Don't be so cynical about the world. Honestly, a change of attitude on your part could make a world of difference. I used to hate on people too, until I realized everyone has flaws (including me) and in general, people are good at heart. People are nice. However, your attitude that you have is not going to make you well-liked at all and you will come off as a negative person in general. It's kinda like you have a sense of superiority. You gotta get rid of that. Just go out and enjoy life and meeting people......you'll realize we're all fine. Not trying to be rude at all, but cynical people never go anywhere.

Generally speaking, there is always a hope for humanity. So long as humans continue live there shall always springs hope. There is always the desire to make the better world to live in. It is somewhat hard to believe but humanity will strive for the best to fathom everything in life. In your rosebush " being what you termed as hope for humanity". Please don't rely on the life of the rosebush because it is only a symbol of hope however for it to die is subject to nature. But it doesn't corrolarily mean the hope of human will die too. The hope for humanity is not embedded on the life of the Rosebush otherwise if that will be your premise. Then our lives are connected to the life of plants which is highly impossible. Remember that Humans have always the desire to do its best whatever the storm in life. Hope is permanently installed in human beings. Therefore, cheer up for a lot of people are always hoping.

Yes, there is always hope. Because I have connected with people who are trying to change the world one person at a time.

Go onto Deepak Chopra's website - he is connecting many people throughout the world from different faiths, cultures etc. There are also many others trying to do the same. But he is "mainstream". My sister is trying to build clinics in Haiti for medical care.

"Be the change you wish to see in the world"
-Ghandi

Glad to know there are others like you. I feel the same way you do. You are not alone. We just all need to connect. We may not change the world, but we can change the world one person at a time. It's a start, right?

The other day, I was working at a camp for under privileged children. One little girl gave a little boy half of her lunch. For most of these kids, this is the only food they have during the day, yes I have hope for humanity. I need to believe that we as a species are moving closer to our goal of peace and an end to suffering. Humanity will continue to improve if we all fight for it. Remember, God smiles upon those who crusade for peace.

At our current rate of growth, in 50 years we'll be at 10 billion souls, with zero fossil fuels, zero coal and other natural resources. Wars will be fought over water. The burgeoning populations will mostly be in the third world countries.

Will technology hope to save the day?....maybe. Will we change our ways and avoid the impending train wreck?....unlikely. Will there be some cataclysmic event that will bring us back to more sustainable levels?.....probably.

I'll go against the tide here with my answer. There is no hope for humanity. Free will cannot be erased. And the pyramid game, which is played with one basic rule. Its a free for all.
Somewhere someone is plotting against another. Somewhere someone is not happy with their lot in life. Somehere somehow someone wants what you have even if it means stripping you of all your dignity. I have seen and witness more evil then can be imagined. But I fear for all those that live in a bubble. They are tomorrow's victims.

Ultimately things are perfect, even if for the moment it's not what is hoped for. As far as current day humanity is concerned, I do not know whether there is hope for it. But things will unfold in the long run into the fitness of truth, and thus of perfection.

Hope,

My most precious friend,

My most sacred friend,

My most soulful friend

And

My most dependable friend,

Only because of you

I can live on earth.

Only because of you

I dare to believe

That someday I will be able

To see my Beloved Supreme personally.

Only because of you

I dare to believe

That there shall come a time

When humanity's face and fate

Will be totally changed.

Only because of you

I feel that there shall come a time

When the animal in man

Will be transformed,

The human in man will be perfected

And

The divine in man will be fulfilled......

Children still smile. As long as children still smile regardless of their state, then there is hope for humanity.

I feel this way because children represent hope, the ability for us to become better people. Evolution is our hope for a better society, bettering ourselves. I think it is sad when some people won't have children who can bring a lot to humanity. I think intelligent people should opt to have children so as to make the world better. Otherwise, other people will have children.
