It depends where u live, I spray the leaves every other day and water well { the plant when it feel dry to the touch} I live in the desert area and very dry, If u live in a damper place, 3 times a week unless the soil is damp. too much water will rot out the root system.

If watering on leaves after sun set or night .During day any watering will burn the leaves.

Never for certain plants (tomatoes especially). For others, once in the early morning or evening when it's cooler out so that the heat doesn't fry them.

leaves absorb the nitrogen and other nutrients it needs, the roots need the H2o
