I find that I do not like the 'preppy' people that are all popular. I am 31, lol and have my own kids. But even more so now than high school... I don't like these types of people. I feel very uncomfortable and feel like 'I am not cool enough'.. even at 31!!! lol I am a coutnry person and never did party or do those 'cool' things. I moved to a small town, am a single mom and I love it (people seem to think I should feel like a victim or something). I feel like these people who still party at my age and always were the 'cool' ones in high school... they seem to think I am weird for being a country girl and having my own style in life. I am very normal, but the people I know like this, sure seem to think that I am 'different'. Does anyone else feel suddenly uncomfortable around the preppy, city people that seem to think that they are 'in'? I am just wondering, because I can't seem to place my finger on what bothers me.

Preppy pretentiousness kind of makes me want to hurl. If you stop and think about it, it must be a lot of work to be preppy. You have to worry about soooo many things..your clothing style, how you talk, having a cool car and house...if your eating preppy enough...are you using the proper preppy t.p....are your personal thoughts preppy enough, the right brand of makeup, the proper preppy bottled water...etc...oh, and being judgemental is very important to a preppy person, it makes them feel soooo important and really smart. I'd rather be normal like you...country is good and a much more appealing, style of like than 'preppydom'.

It sounds like you worry too much about how they judge you. If you just don't click with some people there's nothing you can do about it. It could be because you think they judge people based on material posessions and following their shallow life style (maybe this is true). You must know people where you live who think like you do. I live in a small town where no one thinks city people as a group are cool. Usually they're under a lot of pressure to make money, and live in fear of other people so they're generally not as friendly and don't look strangers in the eye. I used to be one of those people and now I would never choose to go back!

i think yur alot like me
i always feel like im being judge anywhere i go
well did u know that u are being judge all the time but it doesnt matter cuz no matter what u do some one will look at something about u and judge it it is how life is but im sure u have looked at people to and said i cant believe they are doin that or something along those lines and if u say no u are lying cuz everyone does it just some more than other
u cant worry bout it
this is a story on y i sorta got over worrying if people liked me or not
my mom has family friends we actually call them aunt and uncle and we i have known them since i was born well they have kids that are basically like our cousins we grew up together we are supposedliy close well we went to beach together this year and they thought i went to bed but i was just in the other room well they started talkin bout everyone in the house including my SON!!!!!!!!
he cant speak yet and they were making fun of him lets just say he may have autism we are getting that figured out in the next month
well like i said they talked about MY SON who didnt even deserve it and i thought we were like family well no more obvisiouly but these are the hard ways u find out everyone no matter who it is is judging no matter where u go just do the best u can at life and be happy if ur happy thats all that matters
DONT WORRY WHAT OTHER THINK PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

By 31, I hope you're not still bothered by those types of people. They (most of them) are shallow and superficial. I admit when I was younger I went through that awkward period of learning to love my inner geek. I'm well over it by now and hopefully you're finding friends with similar interests and lifestyle and just ignoring the rest.
