I used to do nursing assistant work and I had long fingernails, but it depends on what you consider to be "long". Those freakishly 1 inch claws are too long, but something where there's only 1/8-1/4 inch of white above the skin line is not much. As long as you wash and clean underneath (like you're supposed to with your hands anyway), they look nice.

You don't have ugly stubby nails or have man-hands. You can file them and trim them and still have nails left over for a manicure. What looks better, this:

Long fingernails make your hands look womanly-- there's nothing worse than having a guy who wanted to hold your hand until he saw that your stubs were worse than his!

I dont like long fingernails, but I am in healthcare. We cannot have fingernails that are long. They are unsanitary. Fake fingernails are absolutly forbidden

As a nurse they are breeding grounds for bactieria, viruses, infection and potential for injury to patients/other people.
In the real world, not much difference.
So nothing.

you can use them to untie knots and they come in handy when you need them [weapon, ect]. also they look better, they make us look like a girl instead of having these short stubby looking fingers....
