I found a turtle on the side of the road and I want to know what kind of turtle it is. It looks like most common turtles, it's dark green with light green stripes on it's face. And I was wondering what kind of turtle it is so I can take care of it properly. So if you know a website or what kind of turtle it might be please leave suggestions!

I checked for the red stripe on the neck but I couldn't find it, but it does have some red on it's "ears"

Ok I checked out some pics and I'm pretty sure the one I found is one of those. Thanks!

If it has a little red stripe on its neck, it is a red-eared slider.

If you found it, please release it. There are a lot of reasons that keeping a wild turtle is a bad idea that I can discuss with you if you wish, but it really is not a good idea.

Captive-bred turtles make much better pets if you really want a turtle.
