NBC head office in New York should have the original footage as would Reuters TV in London. The footage was shot by both an NBC cameraman plus Neil Davis (an Australian) who worked for VISNEWS, the forerunner of Reuters TV.

Here's more specific information concerning the footage that you're interested in:

South Vietnamese General Nguyễn Ngọc Loan publicly executed Nguyễn Văn Lém during the Tet Offense. Nguyễn Văn Lém was a Viet Cong agent who had killed several dozen innocent South Vietnamese civilians who were in South Vietnam's National Police force or thought to be related to one. Many who had been killed by Nguyễn Văn Lém were family and close friends of General Nguyễn Ngọc Loan. There was no other shooting or execution in the picture or film footage, but there were dozens of dead or dying bodies close by. Nguyễn Văn Lém was caught near a hole where he had dumped those he had executed into.

General Nguyễn Ngọc Loan has been portrayed as brutally executing Nguyễn Văn Lém, However, Nguyễn Văn Lém was on a mission to kill as many South Vietnamese and American soldiers as he could. Obviously, the pictures and footage do not depict that. Photographer Eddie Adams (the one who took the photo) was quoted in Time:

"The general killed the Viet Cong; I killed the general with my camera. Still photographs are the most powerful weapon in the world. People believe them, but photographs do lie, even without manipulation. They are only half-truths...What the photograph didn't say was, 'What would you do if you were the general at that time and place on that hot day, and you caught the so-called bad guy after he blew away one, two or three American soldiers? How do you know you wouldn't have pulled the trigger yourself?"

You will find the film footage you're looking for in the following:
- Vietnam: A Television History
- Vietnam War with Walter Cronkite

The execution is part of the Tet Offense, which both documentaries cover pretty well.

That was a brutal execution done by no less than a S. Vietnamese Police chief. . At least he did his own dirty work........ background:
I have never heard of any film footage of the same event.
1968 February 1 A Viet Cong officer is executed by Nguyen Ngoc Loan, a South Vietnamese National Police Chief. The event is photographed by Eddie Adams. The photo makes headlines around the world, eventually winning the 1969 Pulitzer Prize, and sways U.S. public opinion against the war.
Look up Eddie Adams work and see the Pulitzer prize website.

I'm not sure, but if you could help me find footage of
the Rwandan massacre I would appreciate it. You
know, the one where up to a million people were
hacked up, shot and murdered on the streets.
