a extra effectual case could be made for Gary Clark than artwork Monk. Monk had extra catches over sixteen seasons, yet Clark became massive in the great video games (like Irvin). Irvin became chosen to 5 professional Bowls in 12 seasons (forty-one%), Clark to 4 in 11 (36%) and Monk to 3 in sixteen (19%). Clark's different numbers (yds consistent with seize, catches consistent with TD, TDs consistent with season, and so on.) additionally journey up extra effectual with Irvin than Monk's. I assume DBs have been extra involved in Irvin and Clark than with Monk. ultimately, that's the hall of recognition, not the hall of sturdiness.

It is a bigger travesty that Irvin got into the hall of fame before Monk!!!!!!! Monk should have been inducted long before now. Hall of fame voters should be ashamed and embarrassed that they have not voted Art Monk in!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree...it goes to show you that being a self serving individual gets you into the Hall before being a stand up player in the league.

I think we should join Ditka and boycott the Hall Induction!!! Too bad he got put in with another great in Mathews.

I am not saying he shouldn't be in but not so soon. Maybe Jerry paid off the votes or something...

Sorry I hate the cowboys.

Too true. Welcome to the Cowboy bias, baby! Monk had the NFL record for all-time receptions before Rice broke it in '95. Monk invented the flanker position. I think it has something to do with Monk's professional demeanor. The "Quiet Man" just doesn't get as much media coverage as the "Playmaker". Style over substance these days. Art Monk is my favorite player of all-time though, so I'm a bit biased.

Sorry Dylan but have you heard of L.T.? He played for the Giants. He had a Drug problem. Don't say oh if he was on the Giants he would never be allowed to get in.
Style over substance, man that had me laughing just off the irony of it. The one had Style, the other had a Substance abuse issue. Seriously if I was Monk I'd be about ready to ask that my name be taken off the ballot in protest of the Hall of SHAME. Just want to add that I don't think flashy is the same as style.

Because Irvin has smoked waaaay more crack than Art Monk. What does Monk have, like 12k yards receiving, what does that prove?

I believe that Art Monk will have to be let in next year. There is way too much public outcry for this guy to be in and he deserved to be there years ago.

I would take Art Monk over Mike any day.

it's BS that monk isnt in BUT it's not a travesty that irvin is in. irvin deserves it as does monk. these voters just get something stuck in their head and don't get off of it. i've herad them say that monk wasnt the skins big play threat and teams didnt have to game plan for him, (gary clark). BS! monk was as consistent as you could get.

i dunno it's very weird! cliff harris and drew pearson were on the nfl hall of fames all decade team, (70's), but arent in the hall. there is only one denver bronco in there...i dunno, it don't make no sence, but i agree with you, monk HAS to go in!
