Hi! I have the same exact problem. It may possibly be because the computer is on. This, whether the monitor is or not, still outputs heat, because of the cooling fans. There are lots of things that can account for this.

I moved my comp to another room. the bed room also gets too hot, of course it is 105 out, Vegas heat, but with the air on all the time still too warm. I put a fan in this room and it is cooler now, The comp throws out a lot of heat, I always has a lap top and never thought of anything like that untill I got a new com.{ not a lap} .

computers do chuck out a hell of a lot of heat. mines got 4 fans and i'm still swealtering!

mine does let alot of heat out. I turn mine off when not in use it's cooler. Save $ too.
