You sure can get an electric rechargable one at K-Mart. I did. A $40 model. It's only ok though. Not a lot of power.

Still should carry them in the Garden Section... The gas string trimmers are a lot more fun and you can get back at the loud neighbors. Plus Home Depot and others had them on sale recently for $70.00-$80.00 USD.
