Well because they think they are old enough and think they are adults. But when it comes time to ready be mature about a situation everyone runs away and leave one person there wondering how are they going to make it alone. Sad but true

It's societal pressure. Children grow up thinking that everybody has sex as soon as they are able and they don't want to miss out on what everyone else is doing. They watch movies and TV where everyone is doing it and that reinforces it.

Then they go to school and their teachers teach them all about it - very graphically - even telling them how to "protect themselves (that's a joke!)" when they do it.

In previous generations, sex was a private issue, as it should be. Most kids learned about it from their families and their churches, also as it should be.

A big problem now is kids are learning about sex without any moral framework. So they see sex as another social activity, rather than a very sacred act with serious consequences.

I think its the whole peer pressure and the way society is today. Everything now days is so sexual. From tv, movies, magazines, everything. 20 years ago kids never thought about it til they were older or nor did they even know what it was til they were older. But now days everywhere they look its advertised.

I personally think it's lack of parental guidence. People are living too much in the "fast lane" per say and aren't paying attention to there children.
