Who else was devestated in the last Death Note episode or manga?

When my poor Light-kun died!!!!!! Waaaaahhhh! *cries histarically* Light-kun!!!! Why'd you have to die???? that Bastard Near! And Mikami wasn't right for you!!! Poor Light-kun.....

Light-kun was awsome! He was Justice! not evil... no no Light-kun was good....

There are so many reasons for the death of Light, but there is not enough space to list all of them, and also I don't to write an essay on here.
First, the most obvious reason is that Ryuk told Light that he is going to be the one who writes his name in the book, and he has to explain to the fact that after death is only nothingness. To "fulfill" the "promise" Ryuk made to Light at the beginning of the story, Light has to die.
The second reason is about ethic. Even though Light/Kira is just like any superheroes, who have unusual power and decide to punish anyone who they think is evil and wrong, he violates the justice system and morality. He kills people based on his own personal belief. In a normal society, especially Japan, there is no way the majority of people can willingly accept his way of thinking and action. He degrades the value of human lives, which is unforgivable. Everybody makes mistakes, including him, which gives him no right to punish others.
The Third reason is that Near/ L represents the justice system in the society, so they cannot lose, since the justice always catch up with the crime. As L says in the story, the good always wins!
The Final reason is that THIS IS A MANGA/ STORY, AND AUDIENCES LOVE HAPPY ENDING, IT HAS TO END THIS WAY!
And btw, fatbearr, there is nobody in the entire story called H...either you are retarded or you just watched too many hentai... his name is L, which is from his last name Lawliet.

It's brilliant how people always are on the side of the main character no matter how evil he is. Seriously, Light was a psychopath and I didn't really care for any of the Death Note characters, although the manga was pure genius in some ways. Still I didn't like the ending at all. In fact I didn't like the manga much after L died, there just was no tension anymore.

Dude/dudette: Light was *evil*. He was good-looking and he was smart, and maybe in some odd way his goals were somehow twistedly noble. But he was *evil*.

"Justice" doesn't kill off innocent agents who are trying to solve murders.

I thought Death Note was a great manga, one of the best I've read. The story was riveting.

But Light was an anti-hero, and if justice was to prevail, he wasn't going to survive the ending.

I was, mostly because it was the last episode plus i did not want Light to die. also i did not want the real L to die either. and i agree he was not that evil he mostly just killed criminals.

I didn't like Death Note after everyone turned evil/emo. Like H for example, we don't even know what his name meant. Hentai? Hottie? Hotdog-lover? Homophobe? And the emo/gothic/blonde/obsessive girl who's obsessed with light and quatered her life just so she can know ur name with out asking you. So no, i wasn't devasted the playboy with unnaturally high IQ died because a death god killed him the way death gods kill everyone.
