Along with the Dragon riders of Pern I would like to add by Gordon R. Dickson the Dragon Knight novels, and by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman The Death Gate Cycle. Also by Mercedes Lackey and Andre Norton The Halfblood Chronicles.

The Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey. The men are depicted as fairly violent toward women, and there is quite a bit of adult content, but the Dragons are the good guys, and there is an excellent female character that appears in the third and fourth books. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragonriders_of_Pern I recommend only the first 5 books.
Also - Joel Rosenberg's Guardians of the Flame series http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joel_Rosenberg#Guardians_of_the_Flame . Including some explicit content, a "gritty" fantasy world where the lead character manages to befriend a dragon because of his abhorrence for slavery. The first book is best, but the second and third are also quite interesting.
I hope this helps.

Eragon is a good one, in my opinion.
Eastern or Asian dragons are usually seen as benevolent so I would look through Asian Lore.
You might also search listmania at Amazon
Good Luck. I think a good jumping off point might be bibliographies from books like Dragonology or The Last Dragon.
You could also call the Museum of Natural History in NYC. They currently have a Mythical Creatures exhibit going on and have loads of good dragon books for sale at the museum

The 'Dragonriders of Pern' series by Anne McCaffrey has many helpful and friendly dragons. One even stars in the third book of the series (third in the order written, chronologically the books jump around a bit), 'The White Dragon'. Great books! I recommend them to anyone that is a dragon fan.

As Mirrorpuck said the series on "The Dragon Riders of Pern" written by Anne McCaffrey will satisfy anyone who enjoys dragon lore. Piers Anthony and Terry Brooks' books include dragons on occasion.
If you would want to dig into the lore of Dragons, you need to read "Ancient Tales and Folklore of China" ISBN 1-8570-021-8

The Dealing with Dragons books by Patricia C Wrede are very nice reads.
Dragon Riders of Pern has quite a bit of dialouge, so if you're not into long conversations, it migt not be the best one to pick up.

the pern books were classified by the writer (and she's quite adamant about it) as science fiction and not fantasy, althought i find both genres quite compatible and the books themselves are most amazing.
you might want to read the obsidian trilogy by mercedes lackey and james mallory.
there are also the dragon jousters by mercedes lackey.
enjoy

I choose there have been extra delusion novels approximately gay men, yet each and each of those you seem at on line and in bookstores are some smutty books, merely like trashy romance novels. i'd like to income gay, or bisexual, couples in even youthful grownup fiction. despite if, could you think of of the communicate that could stir? How suggestions-blowing. i'd relatively study the tale!
