He is sometimes. For example the time when he and Patrick found the baby oyster and Spongebob was the mom and Patrick was the dad. He also dresses like a woman on other occasions. Most of the time I think he just acts retarted which the kids love but don't understand so it's funny.

Most children's show characters are accused of being gay at some point. Telletubbies, Mr. Rogers, Scooby -Doo, Steve from Blues Clues, Kermit the Frog... The list goes on and on. People always try to read to much into stuff and they usually fall into three categories.
1. Religious nuts who think anything that isn't reading the Bible is evil.
2. Homosexuals who want everything to be just a gay as they are.
3. Jocks and Frat boys who think it's funny. Wait they belong in group 2.
Just watch it and enjoy.

Hate to be the one to have to tell you this, but Spongebob isn't real. He is a CARTOON, for Chrissake! I suppose he can be gay, if you want him to be, but only if you believe, really, really believe...and clap your hands, keep clapping your hands so Tinker Bell....oh, no....that's another show.....

No, Sponge Bob is not gay. Nickelodeon would not reference any type of sexual orientation because children watch this show. It's quite popular. It just wouldn't be right.
