I would say my life is most definitely A Midsummer Night's Dream crossed with Taming of the Shrew. I am Hermia and Kate all rolled into one if that can make sense to anyone but me. As a teen I was most certainly Hermia when it came to matters of the heart, but when I attracted someone such as a Petruchio (an undesirable to my mind) or if I felt crossed such as what Hermia felt once Puck had worked (or misworked) his magic I could become instantly shrewish. This is where the phrase "Hell hath no fury" originated :-) So to answer the next question, yes I believe I am playing a lead role.

I've gone all of the way through Midsummer since I've married my Lysander. In my version, as soon as I stepped into the picture I got rid of Miss Helena and we haven’t seen her @ss since! Our life has been like a wild dream, including a daughter who’s crazy into fairies. As for Taming of the Shrew, Bianca did get married off and she has 3 children. Her suitor must have come through Bill & Ted’s time machine though because he was called “Shredder” and he very much enjoyed heavy metal music and rocking on. I ditched Petruchio before Lysander came along (thank goodness) because the former was truly no good, at least not at the time
The stage director would be Michael Hoffman because unlike many film versions of Shakespeare’s works, I very much enjoyed his version of Midsummer. The Producer would be Bill Gates, because he can finance anything.

As for the original endings? Yes and no. For Shrew, no way. I am not one to be tamed but to be enjoyed as I am in all my mixed up craziness! But for Midsummer, absolutely.

Most definitely Hamlet. My roles in life seems to switch between Hamlet and Ophelia, while I'm surrounded by such hypocrites like Polonius. On occassion I will slip into the roles of Rosencrantz and Gilderstern, whenever my over-analysis leads to a state of complete limbo. But overall, definitely Hamlet. Plus, I'm a quarter Danish ;)

I'd say I'm about half way, an in between state in the plot, too far from the beginning and not close to the end.

Mel Gibson, of course, would be the logical choice, but I felt his Oedipus interpretation of Hamlet ignored too much existentialism in favour of blantant sexuality, which misses the point of a dark, brooding character entirely. Kenneth Branagh might be a good choice though, or possibly Gus Van Sant.

Do I expect the original ending? Good god I hope not *lol* As despairing as things may seem, I do hope my hard work will turn this tragedy into a triumph :)

"Troilus and Cressida": I am Troilus, because a woman with whom I had sworn eternal love was untrue. This is not uncommon, and their are many Troiluses out and about! I have made it to the end of the plot, in which Troilus does not die, and continued. I doubt Troilus's future was very promising, as he probably died with the fall of Troy, but that does not occur in the play. I don't know who the proper director and producer would be, but I would prefer them to respect the setting and text of the original play.

A Midsummer Night's Dream because my love life is a farce, and no, I do not expect the original ending. Life doesn't all come together like that. It just ends.

My life is based on "Timon of Athens." I feel alienated from society, but like I still have worth. I also feel misunderstood, since no one has ever read "Timon of Athens" and no one knows what I am talking about.

Much ado about nothing - Beatrice is one of my favourite literary figure and I feel I can relate to her wit and vivacity.
