I've had no problem staying in US hotel rooms with my children when they were under 18. What possible law were you afraid of falling foul of?

Are you female and are they male ? In most states it's probably still legal but
every once in a while some motel owner will get a bug up their butt and call the cops. The cops will tell you that the sleeping arrangement is perfectly legal but the drugs and alcohol are not . Oops !
