Because you are a traitor.

You embolden the enemy and call disabled Veterans chicken hawks.

You deserve to die but they don't kill traitors anymore.

Maybe you can move to San Francisco and run against Nancy Pelosi.

Typically con...Anytime the word "free" is mentioned cons go into a hissy-fit and conniption. Something in their psyche is triggered by this word and they respond accordingly. Free speech is simply another variation that causes their phobias to become exposed to the general public. People that speak,(people that CAN speak) upset the conservative mind frame as they resent anyone who can think and ask questions. This is the reason they attempt to limit education. When a person utters,"free speech" or "First Amendment" the conservatives realize someone with a bit of common sense and logic may challenge their archaic and antediluvian ideology and pose a threat to their dogmatic concepts. Hence from that time they refer to these thinking individuals as traitors.

When people talk about the First Amendment in this instance they are talking about the part which deals with Freedom of Religion. Which is what this particular case is about. You have the right to speak out against it if you wish--the problem comes when you use your free speech to try to stifle the speech of others.

Are you actually defending Sean Penn? Do you in any way agree with what he did? While I think "traitor" may be a bit strong, what he did was unconscionable. How can anyone who claims to be liberal support someone so totalitarian as Chavez? You want to talk about free speech? What about the TV station Chavez shut down for disagreeing with him?

Notice that he has the freedom to go there and speak out. That is his right and nobody is stopping him. :)

Do I consider him to be a traitor? Yes, I do. Do I defend his right to free speech? Yes, I do.

There, ya have it.

bashing our leader and military encourages the world do it also , neolibs that are full of hate and constantly bash have split this country in 2 and that is why they are traitors . But yes technically you can say whatever you want , there is no rule on common sense or pride in your country within the first amendment . These libs that are traitors could have a debate and solve issues with the other side , you know they way it has been done since the beginning but instead they spread propaganda like farenheit 9/11 and thousands of blog sites .

Because conservatives deeply and truly believe that they are the only ones who should be allowed to speak. They appear to believe this fiction since they view themselves overwhelmingly as religious. Ergo, their views must be gods view.. as given to them by the apostle Rush.

It therefore follows that anyone with an opinion that differs, must be in league with the devil and should be dealt with accordingly.

With all of this, the conservatives fail to see the similarity between their very parochial world views and the views of Islamic fundamentalist/terrorist.

What an interesting coincidence.

The people you speak of are not really conservatives, they are Fascists hiding behind the conservative label. Hitler would have loved these guys!

Not all conservatives -- just a small fanatic few.

And it's because they believe that anything that they don't agree with is heresy, and thus must be destroyed.

Classical fanatic delusion. Happens to a few people out of every large group.
