As soon as the Bridge collapsed last week, Libs were coming out of the wood work saying it was Bush's fault. Appropriately the conservatives corrected them that Bridges are a state and county afair and have NOTHING to do with the federal govt or the executive branch and that Minnesota is a Blue state. We also pointed out to them that a 3rd grader should know that. This is after also pointing out to them that Bush doesnt control Hurricanes as he's been blamed for all of those, and earth quakes and tsunamis. So what is it, what .org blogs or Mikey Moore Documentaries are libs getting these strange ideas from and why do they cancel out what ever small amount of common sense that they have in their heads?

Nick, yes they were. If YOU were one of the smart ones who WASNT then good for you but you must not have noticed the ones that WERE. Just listen to the people who call in on radio shows or on Cspan complaining about Bush the bridge destroyer and hurricane starter. Just for example you could also scroll down the politics and Govt section of yahoo answers and see for yourself.

Faulty cortex, why you gotta make things up dude? You realize that EVERY bill passed is listed in public and the entirety of the bills are spelled out. Give us a link to the Bill in which Bush-Cheney cut bridge funds (which they cant because the federal govt doesnt control bridges)

AJ's Girl, Map, and Nick, I should have taken the time to change "libs" to "alot of libs" so as not to imply that the few smart ones among you think the same. Shouldhave done that from the beginning, you're right.

lltrix, why would you come onto a QA forum and lie? Its a well known fact that Bush has only vetoed 3 things in his time in office. He's well known for how FEW vetoes he's done. Veto 1 was against Federal funding of stem cell research on fetus's. veto 2 was against a senate bill which included a deadline and a pull out date for us in Iraq. veto 3 was the second attempt at federal funding for stem cell research on aborted fetus's.
Thats public, anyone can see it. You KNEW what you were saying was a lie. Why did you lie?

This issue proves how dumb liberals are to blame the president or that they just are dealing with hate and not wanting to have an honest discussion of the political issues of the day. This is an event that is not the result of 7 years of the Bush administration but years of neglect of our crucial infrastructure. This bridge is a part of the federal highway system so it is not just a local or state issue like you state. The federal government does supply most of the money to construct these bridges and roads in the interstate system. But most of the maintenance is done by local and state crews. Its a real problem at the local level who have really been the main ones to drop the ball on making sure that our infrastructure from bridges and roads, water treatment plants and lines, sanitary and storm sewers, and electrical and gas grids and lines are safe and up to date. Unfortunately due to the neglect the costs to fix the problem is in the trillions. I know just one bridge on a major interstate (I-75) in Cincinnati will cost about 3 billion by today's costs and their have been no engineering design, land acquisition, or construction started. And this is a bridge that is functionally unsafe and is carrying a load way over projected capacity. So imagine the costs nationally. And guess what they don't even see work beginning on this bridge for about 3-4 years. We need to really adress this now. To me this is a bigger priority than national health care, my having health care means nothing if I have unsanitary water or a bridge falls down in the Ohio River with me and 1,000 other people.

Libs are NOT ignorant. Perverted, maybe, but not ignorant.
They will blame anything that might have the remotest connection to Bush and they lie about anything they think they can get away with lying about plus some they can't.
The Liberals have an agenda, one that creates the largest socialist nation in the world. They do this because currently the USA is the richest (or one of the richest) nations in the world, and they think with all that money, they can make socialism work. Only a fool would keep repeating the same experiment and expect different results each time.

properly, i'm a lib, and that i've got have been given on no account carried out the two one in each and every of those subject concerns. in actuality, the only human beings I hear continuously politicizing this tragedy are neocons who can no longer end partisan bashing for the 5 minutes it takes them to formulate some stupid post approximately how liberals are "getting into value Bush; that's in right this moment forward words a depend of time." meanwhile, making use of this tragedy to added a political schedule is largely f**king disgusting. human beings make me ill. placed across a controversy to the table that has earnings, and according to probability human beings will debate you. I swear to God, interior the journey that your canines had kinfolk canines, you human beings would come across the thank you to tutor it top right into a political platform plank.

Um, I haven't heard that. At all. I think everyone is pretty just saying yikes, I really hope some of the missing people survived and just didn't check in with anyone yet. The hurricane thing, they were blaming him for how he handled it post-fact, not that he caused the thing. He should have had it dealt with and took money from the war to help those people. It got so bad that they nearly declared marshal law, which is absolutely terrifying. Nobody is blaming the collapse of the bridge on him, unless they are stupid. Much as I would love to pin something else on him, I have enough reasons to hate him.
edit:
Stop being so defensive. You asked a question so you could get responses. Why on earth would you ask a question just to bash people with different opinions than you? You're being very closed minded. Anyone can see more people are against your little paranoid theory, so instead of being rude, you should listen to the answers you asked for!

Well Mr. smart guy a 2nd grader also knows that the Vice President is a member of the Executive Branch of the government and not the Legislative like bush and the boys are trying to contend. Finally, a 3rd grader that doesn't have a Ivy League education can spell "potato" how about Dan Quayle.

Actually, the first word I heard came from the White House, Snow, who was pointing fingers at the governor (Tim Pawlenty) who happens to be Republican. He also vetoed all funding to bridge and infrastructure repair twice.
In terms of infrastructure, where has the Republican Congress been on the WRDA bill for the past seven years? They vetoed it and at other times refused to bring it to the floor.

Bridges that are part of the interstate highway system ARE in part the federal governments responsibility.
As far as Libs blaming Bush for the collapse, that's nonsense. No one said anything of the kind, just like no one ever blamed Bush for Katrina. They did blame him for the poor federal response afterward.

Why do people label others? So do all "libs" blame the bridge collapse on Bush? I do not label myself, but you would probably label me a "lib". When I heard of the bridge collapse I thought "Those poor people and their families." No image of George Bush came to my mind, nor the minds of any of my "lib" friends.

You know as well as I do, if there was a democrat as president, the republicans would be saying the same thing.
But anytime, and with any party, when someone tells you a bridge is not up to par, that someone should follow-up with the state to make sure they do something about it. You had someone in the federal government say something, they should have followed up on it.
