that don't register on caller id.But the more bothersome thing is the following. I sleep with a sound machine because my husband snores. Whenever my husband goes out of town ( I still use the machine out of habit), a loud interrupting sound happens several times a night on the machine starting at around 2:30 am. My husband suggested it was acting up because it was low on batteries but it plugs in and has no batteries. Also I have tested it by leaving it on during the day to see if it happens and it never does. It has happened once one night when my husband was there and I woke him up right away but of course he didn't hear it- he is a very heavy sleeper. He doesn't go out of town very often but now every timne he does it happens at least 5 times a night. I have never seen a ghost while this happens. Does anyone have any insight?

What you are experiencing is commonly called "POLTERGEIST",(lit' "naughty ghost").It is usually caused by your own energy being released without your control and causing things to happen. It is mostly triggered by your own fears. The good news is that once you are aware of it , it is very easy to stop. Other things that you may be experiencing are strange noises or sounds, pictures falling off walls, finding things in strange places, or things falling off shelves.
NO! YOUR'E NOT CRAZY.
People who haven't experienced it cannot understand what you are going through. Let them think whatever they want. Call me for more info'

The kids on the phone are prank callers. Alarms going off are normal. Electronic equipment, almost all of it, is built to accept transmissions, and you may be getting interference from a broadcast -- perhaps a scheduled broadcast, or an electronic device that is set to turn on at a particular time is causing an interference. You should try switching from a sound machine to a simple motorized fan. Ghosts would be the last thing on my mind.

Nothing paranormal has ever been proven to exist. In fact, for several years James Randi has offered $1 million to anybody who can prove the existence of any paranormal entity or ability, and nobody has come even close to claiming the prize.

OK well the sounds machine can be tested by changing the time for instance and then running it until 2:20 am on its dial.

The phonecalls are either kids pranking your family or your own kids pranking you. Spirits don't use phones.

If the sound machine test fails to yield anything, is it possible it is picking up some electronic interference about 2:30 everynight? Maybe someone nearby using a ham radio or a CB?

get yourself a digital recorder. and record the sounds form the machine.

then play it back, and listen. you may have an EVP or electronic voice phenominon. this could be valuable information for you as it will give you an idea as to the nature and intent of the disturbances.

the sounds on the phone could be the same, but are likely prank calls. pay phones usually do not show up on caller ID.

after you do this, you may need to have a proest or spiritulist come and do a cleansing/exorcisim, or blessing on your home.

Quick story...I'm sure you've heard of people that were dying and talking to people who weren't there or that had already died....well, there is truth to these things:

First part...my Grandma lived in a house that a young boy had died in the 50's:

My grandma was having a stroke. It was really late at night and only my dad was there with her. (my grandpa died in '97) Suddenly she started talking to her mother and friends who were long gone....but would still consciously talk to my dad asking questions. (My grandma was a serious Christian by the way) Then, right before they left for the hospital, she turned to a chair in the living room and said:
"He just sits there after his paper route all the time. Why doesn't he go home?"

She passed away a week later.

My dad and I were talking about the things she said and suddenly we both remembered the kid who had died...because wierd stuff had happened to him and his sisters when they were younger. So we did reaserch and found the boy had a paper route.

There was no way she could have known that...so whatever she saw, there was something to it...so do reasearch about your place...and don't ignore this...

Well as for the calls without caller-id you can easily just block those. Call your phone company and ask if you have that feature, if not, enable it.

As for the loud interupting noise, record it and see if the manufacturer of the machine knows what it is... Maybe it's time to buy a new one or it's still under warranty?

As for alarms going off, do you neighbors here it? Is it alarms you've enabled? If it's your security alarm it's time to tell your monitoring service.

I've never seen a ghost. I think I would probably stop using the sound machine so I wouldn't have to be creeped out in the middle of the night.

Have you been stressed or anything big happening in your life? Family members that have passed on will come around to be with you in your time of need. Talk to them and ask for a sign...During the day, of course!

I was home alone on my birthday and I smelled cigarette smoke (we are a non-smoking house), flowers and cookies baking. No joke.

When I called my sister to tell her what has been happening during the day, she reminded me that my dad (who has passed) was a chain smoker, My grandma (also passed) always wore Jasmine perfume. And my other grandma (passed) had the same b-day as me and instead of cookies that I smelled must have been b-day cake.

I WAS SCARED OUT OF MY MIND. but it never happened again. I'm kind of wishing it would!

Truly, people born in the 80s are the ones who got to experience the essence of the 90s a bit more vividly. They were old enough to remember the decade, the music, the fashion trends, the toys, etc. Someone literally born in the 90s, didn't fully experience the 90s. Not quite in the same way.

Stange, there are a lot of stange things that happen in this world. I would return the sound machine and purchase a new one to start. Good Luck!
