My ex did this over many years - there was no stopping him. It was a factor in our break up as I felt he didn't respect me or anyone else for that matter. My kids grew up ok though. Talk to him and explain that it is disrespectful and, over the long term, can affect the way you feel about him. Good luck..

It depends on how often it happens and how old the kids are. Kids will hear that language from other kids by the time they are 6 or 7. If your other half is otherwise a good person--this might be one of those things you accept as part of the total package.

I sympathise with you. I have a mouth like a sewer most of the time and it is normal for me to swear, but not where kids are or at work. it is called respect really.
You need to talk to your other half and tell them you won't accept it.

Your husband should not swear in front of the kids. But
on the other hand, Your kids will hear it in school. what you need to do is talk to the kids and explain to them this bad and you do not want them to laugh about it. and if it works and the kids don't laugh you husband my stop swearing in front of them.

Your other half should not swear at the kids, or in front of them, talk to him and give him piece off mind, if he loves you he'd stop. Or kick his butt in front of them when he swears..

ds is only 2 but is starting to copy EVERYTHING we say. I hate it that his father swears in front of him but the more I say that I don't like it, the more he does it. I'll be watching this to see if I get some ideas!

Sweet Pea that is not very healthy for you and the children, I would sit the spouse down and have a talk asap and be open about how you feel about this. Good luck!

not good way to bring up kids
i hope you tried talking to him about this.
i would think most parents would like to raise thier kids better than they were raised.
would make a better world. :)
doing this makes chances better for having tough kids to deal with when they are older
i really wish you luck on this

definitely lighten up
this is real life and exposing them to just a little of this shows them that, hey, we don't live in a perfect world. Better they see it from you than from someone that just does it and doesn't mean it in fun

If you don't like it he should respect it and so should the kids.
A family conference might help perhaps with grand parents present.
