The truth is nobody can be 100% certain, like much historical analysis it´s down to conjecture and speculation based upon the facts.

Hitler was a very gallant soldier in the First World War, winning the Iron Cross, First Class. When news of Germany´s surrender reached him, he broke down in tears, the news left him devastated and he began to blame certain Fifth Columnists, or in Hitler's words: "a gang of despicable and depraved criminals!" for Germany´s capitulation, which included Jews.

There is some evidence that the US entered The Great War in exchange for Britain giving the Jewish people rights to Palestine, however. The Balfour Declaration was a written letter from Arthur James Balfour (Foreign Secretary) to Lord Rothschild (Walter Rothschild, 2nd Baron Rothschild), a leader of the British Jewish community, for transmission to the Zionist Federation, a private Zionist organization. The document is kept at the British Library.

Zionist bankers had (and arguably still have) an inordinate amount of influence over the US, and Britain occupied Palestine, so it is argued a deal was struck. Why else would Britain concern herself with such matters in 1917? At least this is what Hitler believed.

Another factor that may have influenced Hitler, was a book published at the beginning of the century entitled the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The book allegedly documents the minutes of meetings of the Elders, as they discussed how they would dominate and rule the world. Some claim that the book is a hoax, though this is refuted by others.

Whether they are genuine or fake, the Protocols were quite prophetic. They predicted universal suffrage, World Wars, Liberalism, Communism and Fascism, feminism, religion to be replaced with materialism and brain washing through the media. Many people took this book very seriously and were genuinely perturbed by what they perceived as a Jewish conspiracy - Henry Ford (the car manufacturer) and Adolf Hitler are both believed to have been convinced by the book.

Finally, as others have alluded to, the Jewish people living in Germany tended to be less effected by the depression, often due to the fact they were professionals or self-employed. This coupled with the aforementioned factors bred resentment in the German people and well, you know the rest...

Anti-semitism is still rife today, and probably always will be! Jewish people have done great things - Jesus, Einstein, Karl Marx, Spielberg come to mind instantly. But people still point to US aid to Israel, and quotes like Ariel Sharon´s, 'We control America', as evidence of a conspiracy.

Ignore those who blame socialism - it was in fact fascism.

Germany got a raw deal from the First World War peace agreement, the reparations being paid were crippling Germany. The country's economy was struggling to recover from the 1914-18 war and inflation was rocketing. Unemployment soared and even the most basic commodities, like bread, had to be paid for with a wheelbarrow full of worthless money. These conditions are ripe for the rise of the politics of the extreme right. People needed someone to blame and they bought Hitler's theory that Jews were the cause of all Germany's problems.

Even today, when someone who doesn't have much going for them see others being successful, they envy them. This is how people like the BNP build a support base - they move their activists into highly deprived areas of Britain's inner cities, start a riot, blame the Asian community rather than the shaven-headed f***wits, and try to say "we told you so!"

Assuming you are referring to the Jewish Holocaust, you should be using the past tense.

The Nazis perceived Jews as an amoral, corrupt race that exploited their host country for their personal gain. They were seen as parasites that milked the Fatherland, having no loyalty beyond their own race and possibly the yet to be formed Jewish State. Attempts were made to resettle Jews but the US turned them away, giving rise to Hitler's final solution.

Because after World War I and the allies defeat, majority of Jews manage to seize the economy of Germany such as business and enterprises there, it cause a very tense hostility and rivalry between the Nazis and the Jewish people. Hitler hated Jews because he claimed in his book that they had literally damaged German's prosperity. The other reason to explain that was because Nazis ideology is based on racism and total violence. They believe that all of inferior races such as Jews, Gypsies, etc should be exterminated from the surface of the earth.

The Holocaust grew to become into simply by long held prejudices in the time of Western Europe. those were there for hundreds of years and the Nazis purely used this to their benefit. In Tudor circumstances in England it grew to become into not a criminal offense to seek or persecute Jews or Gypsies and there are records of a lot of those human beings being killed because of the fact they have been who they have been. In maximum worldwide places in the time of Europe it grew to become into straight forward preparation to confiscate toddlers from the two those communities with a view to convey them up as 'Christian'. The Church grew to become into instrumental in spreading hearsay and untruths related to the 'satanic' religions of the Jews and the Gypsies. One ecu us of a certainly forcibly sterilised Gypsy toddlers to dodge their 'breeding' good into the 1980's!! all of the Nazis had to do grew to become into to do away with the guidelines which secure those human beings and from then on they'd do what they needed, despite the fact that inhumane. the generic public did not oppose this because it made it elementary for them to right their very own form of violent discrimination without come back. Even on the instant there are examples of human beings who behave in a fashion we does not anticipate as quickly as the potential of the regulation is bumped off. it somewhat is a very complicated concern without basic answer and that i could propose which you obtain a replica of a e book entitled 'From Prejudice to Genocide' which provides a lots wider view of all of the failings which led as much as the Holocaust ultimately being achievable. It information the way it grew to become into achievable for human beings to, not in basic terms settle for it, yet to actively condone or help it occurring.

According to my father, who lived and fought in the army during that period, the cause was the Jews using American and British money to buy up Germany when the average German was struggling due to hyper inflation and the Mark devaluing every day so that eventually you could buy a house for a few pounds or dollars. Wouldn't you be angry if a minority community was taking over your country. Come to think of it they are today and the EU is helping them.

Hitler needed a scapegoat for Germany's problems and to assist his rise to power, and used a false document known as The Protocols of Zion to assign blame to the Jews.
