It's not just in Texas, but not widely practiced anywhere I've lived except in San Antonio and around Buffalo NY. I hope you wore a long tailed shirt with your sparkly tiara to work today and got lots of loot to boot! Happy Birthday.

I live in Ohio and they do it here. Beggers are everywhere. lol
They start out with a dollar pinned to their shirt to let everyone know that it's their birthday. Then others are suppose to follow suite.
