If you have no clue what I'm talking about; please go rent "Pay It Foward". It is an amazing movie that actually had me bawling at one point! I have a friend who had her trailer burn down 2 years ago. About 2 weeks after it happened someone sent her a $300 check and a copy of that movie.

hay anthony.... I'm pretty sure whoever did that for her wasn't thinking that she owed them anything. That's the whole idea of this concept. Not to pay it back; but to pay it foward. Nothing is owed; it's just nice to think MAYBE that person will help someone else out too.

Giving the $300 and the movie "Pay it Forward"? It's as if to say 'here's $300, now you owe me one'. I seen Oprah talk about it here & there, and I think she's the most pretentious person in the world. Selfless acts aren't selfless if you brag about them.
Helping people out is great, but you don't need a movie to tell you that. It's just the right thing to do.

Doing something nice for someone else without being asked can give the "doer" a very happy feeling. I would always try to help anyone with whatever they NEEDED if I could, because, who knows, one day I could be in that same desperate situation and would hope that there would be someone to help me also! It's just a "treat others how you would want to be treated" message. In this world, there are so many kind hearted people that will do things for others, without seeking praise or thanks for the good deed. Many of these people stay anonymous. Regarding the "pay it forward" aspect, when I was a little girl, both my grandparents were very ill in hospital and needed to receive large amounts of blood in order to surivive. I am so thankful that they did, and are still alive today, however, had the blood not been donated, the result could have been so different. I am so scared of needles it's untrue, but every 4 months I go to the donation centre, roll up my sleeve and let them take their 3/4 pint. Because thanks to the people who donated years ago my grandparents are still alive today, and if I can put something back into the system, and save someone elses family/friend then it's (the needle) all worthwhile!!!

Yes I have. A smile works more effectively than a comment. I was travelling in a public taxi and the driver was talking about his problems with the Water Authority, I drafted out a letter for him and he met me the next day and said he got prompt service from them. Even 2 other managers called and verified that he was actually receiving customer care. Never paid to ride again. But it felt awkward, even though I said it wasn't anything. I used another taxi. He recommended me to the Association as Secretary.

Ms. No Name (aha) As a Christian I do believe the wicked will be punished for their evil deeds. The punishment they receive in this life will be mild compared to eternity. Child abusers will have a one way ticket to hell. I admire you working with these children. My daughter has also. It takes a strong person to be able to handle such things. I believe monsters that hurt children are the worst scum of the earth. If I had the power, I would gladly give them a swift kick in the a** straight into the lake of fire. Edit: Love your new name and avatar!
