It isn't President Bush's fault, or your lender for that mater, that your home is being forclosed you over extended yourself and now you are paying the price.

You had sex and got pregnant, than take responsibility for your actions, and have the baby. If you can't afford a child, give the baby up for adoption.

It isn't the governments job to give you money, get you a good job, pay your bills, take care of your kids, give you food, or any other thing that responsible people in the country do. Time to grow up and get on your own two feet.

Germany would disagree with you there. They have a safety net. They actually care about their citizens (wow, what a concept) and take care of them. The Germans I know here can't believe that a hospital would be willing to let someone die of a treatable disease simply because he/she didn't have insurance. They also couldn't believe how many homeless people there are here and wondered why the country did nothing more than try to make them "leave."

It is not the governments responsibility to control women's bodies. Just because you're a rich religious person, doesn't mean you need to destroy other people's lives because of your beliefs. It's a form of terrorism really. That's all the radicals who kill people are doing. Taking what you are doing with your religion to the next level. People don't just lightly throw away a baby. Everyone I know who had an abortion thought about it for a long time and it was an extremely difficult decision, that they came to because they thought it was best not only for them, but for a potential child. And think about it. Where on earth does that get that child, to be given up for adoption? What kind of life is that, and imagine the feeling of rejection on the part of the child. I love how the church tells women abortion is a sin, and then if they have the baby, the church and government refuse to help the mother and tells her she was irresponsible. There is a separation of church and state, so it's not fair of the government to outlaw abortion for that reason. And that is the real reason.

People make mistakes. You need to get off your high horse. Not everyone is as pampered as you. Some people get dragged into things they didn't intend to be dragged into. It is in fact the governments job to take care of it's citizens. Many third world countries and dictators have the same view you do, and look where that got them. Once you reach the bottom, without help it's impossible to find your way back up. Even with a job and hard work. And what about this war on terror. How can someone agree with that, which is supposed to protect and save Americans, and not agree with helping it's citizens not die at the hands of their own government. Stop being so closed minded and such a spoiled brat. Not everyone has it as good as you.

I agree. Welfare has grow to be a burden to society. I do have confidence in pensions, SS (for people who paid in totally), disability pensions and disability reward for actual disabilities. although laziness isn't a disability and welfare is a huge problem. Tax payers artwork and bust butt 3 hundred and sixty 5 days around to preserve generations of welfare toddlers who only make the cycle bigger. The preliminary theory is great.... provide somebody a hand up so they are in a position to sooner or later make contributions to society. although one needs to comprehend the version between a hand up and a hand out. If the guy fails to extra effectual themselves they could desire to not be a burden to society. We additionally depleted by way of welfare the backside classification of workers who have been meant to be the farm helpers, the production unit workers, the trash creditors, and so on. particularly we've the middle classification doing the artwork of the detrimental which makes it so we will not compete on a international point.

I will take this even further and say: If you want to raise a certain crop, don't expect the government to give you money or special tax breaks to do so. If you are smart and dedicated enough to end up wealthy, gladly pay whatever percentage of your income the poor are also asked to pay.

I'll give you all of that except the lack of choice for pregnancy.

If the govt is not going to provide any services, then it also needs to stay out of personal choices.....

And I think that's a great model to strive for -- minimal govt interference in personal lives and personal choice, mininimal govt services (pay for roads and bridges, and law enforcement to protect against violent crimes).

Other than that, the govt leaves everyone alone to fend for themselves. Live free or die.
