You need to talk to a lawyer ASAP. It doesn't matter what answers you get here, only a lawyer can tell you for sure. I assume you used an attorney for your divorce. Give him a call and find out once and for all.

You need to get into the courts and file to have visitation modified so you can keep contact with your daughter. This shows the courts you are being responsible and trying to keep contact up with her.
Get a lawyer and get it started.
And if you can't get it done before you leave then you need to really consider not going at all and staying in the states so you can be with your daughter. She is more important than any job you will ever have.

This is tough, and I suspect you will have to get clarification from the court. Just gut feeling, I don't think a custodial parent would have to let a child travel out of the country to satisfy visitation orders. I expect the court would expect you to travel to visit with your child, rather than the child traveling to visit with you. You did not mention the age of the child, which may be a factor. However, in today's world of terrorists and all, if your ex wife says she fears for her child's safety in traveling out of the country, I will bet there isn't a court anywhere going to order her to let the child go.

I have a friend who just went through the same, but her ex was moving to Thailand.. she argued in court that the difference in medical care / education / laws / etc.. put her child at risk to harm and won.. however, the father was allowed to ammend the visitation agreement to allow for him to schedule time here in the states with the daughter depending on when he can be here.

Sweet Pea you probably have limitations depending on the court order. It would be different if you were moving to another state but it sounds like you are moving out of the country and you have to go to family court to get that approved. Good luck!

What is keeping YOU from coming here for visitations? You will have to check your divorce papers to see what it say about visitations, and if you want them changed you will have to go to court.
