He was all hype and the TEAMS knew it. Why do you think the Browns didn't take him first pick? Why do you think the Dolphins didn't take him, and pursued Trent Green at HIS age. He never showed up for the Big games. He lost every time he played USC(out of fairness he unoffically won the one game because the "Bush Push" was an illegal play and had they called it Notre Dame would have won), he lost EVERY Bowl game, I think he was like 2-8 against Top 10 teams. He SUCKED when it mattered.

Brady Quinn isn't even that good of a player. He was in a dream when he thought he'd go top 5. If the Browns didn't get the 2nd pick in the 1st round. I doubt very much that Quinn would even be drafted in the 1st round.

The raiders wanted a big strong quarterback because their offensive line is so poor. The Vikings decided to give Jackson a try and draft a running back. The Dolphins decided to make a play for Trent Green. No one else needed a first round quarterback.

He didn't get drafted that high because of the same reason that Troy Smith got drafted in the fifth round...he was good all season, but all the coaches remembered was that bowl game loss.

At one point they had him pegged as a Top 5 pick. I think because of his showing at the rookie symposiums and individual private practices for teams did it more than his career. They are so important to a rookie but if one of them has a bad day they take that into consideration.

You have to remember that he had an ex-NFL offensive coordinator as his head coach, QB coach, and mentor. Not bad for being in college.

The main reason was they his stock fell like a informer with cement overshoes. Just one space from the Chiefs. The Browns jumped and got a really great QB.

Because he is overrated. He won ZERO bowl games. He had bad stats in games against strong teams. His record in college was inflated by playing against the service acadamies (no offense). He won ZERO big games. His accuracy is suspect. His arm strength is suspect.

Scouts look at this stuff, and they determined he wasn't worth it.

Because he's so horribly overrated; still, I was shocked at the Dolphins picking Ginn. Probably not as shocked as Quinn, though. It was priceless seeing the camera go to him every time his name WASN'T called.

Cheers!

I think most teams had a lower opinion of pretty boy than he does of himself.
