Today is the 4th and I was going to the bank today andr get money out to pay my rent. Well, the bank was closed today due to some big time flea market thing going on down town. The nearest bank other then that is 35 miles away and was to be closed 10 min after I found out that my bank wasn't open. On my lease it states u need to pay by the 5th of each month. So, if I pay it on the 6th this month will I get into trouble? I can pay it EARLY Monday morning. (BTW my landlord doesn't accept checks because they were getting a lot of bounced checks each month).

Give him a call and explain the situation you might now have to pay the late fee

If this is clearly stated in the lease then it would be up to the landlord to make this decision on the matter of late charge or not if you are a long term good tenant I would think they would let it slide this one time.

call your landlord immediately and explain the situation.
but by the fifth means ---by midnight on the 5th. 12:01 am is too late.

If you have been a good tenant and always paid on time, he may let you slide and only give you a late charge.

good luck :)
